30-second check
Most mic issues are one of four things. Try these in 30 seconds before you go further.
- Check the connection: is the microphone physically plugged in? Unplug and replug if unsure.
- Check the mute button: most headsets and cables have a physical mute toggle.
- Close "thief" apps: Teams, Zoom and Dragon often grab the microphone exclusively.
- Refresh: reload the page or restart your browser.
