Nixi AI

Fix microphone issues in under a minute.

If Nixi AI can't hear you, one of four things is almost always the cause. Walk through them in order.

30-second check

Most mic issues are one of four things. Try these in 30 seconds before you go further.

  • Check the connection: is the microphone physically plugged in? Unplug and replug if unsure.
  • Check the mute button: most headsets and cables have a physical mute toggle.
  • Close "thief" apps: Teams, Zoom and Dragon often grab the microphone exclusively.
  • Refresh: reload the page or restart your browser.

Browser permissions (Google Chrome)

Chrome must be allowed to use your microphone for the Nixi AI tab.

  1. Click the slider icon (or lock) on the left of the URL bar.
  2. Toggle Microphone to Allow.
  3. Reload the Nixi AI tab.

If no microphone toggle appears, open Site settings → Microphone → Allow, then reload the tab.

Windows · system privacy settings

  1. Press the Windows key and search for "Microphone privacy settings".
  2. Turn on "Let apps access your microphone".
  3. Scroll down and make sure Google Chrome is listed and enabled.

macOS · system privacy settings

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
  2. Find Google Chrome in the list.
  3. Make sure the toggle is blue (enabled).
  4. Restart Chrome after changing the permission.

Remote Desktop / RDP

If you run Nixi AI inside a remote-desktop session, the audio stream has to be redirected from your local machine into the session.

  1. Enable "Audio Recording Redirection" in the session's Group Policy settings.
  2. On the client side, set the RDP connection to Record audio from this computer.
