What happens if your internet drops mid-recording.

You have about 90 seconds to reconnect, and everything you've already said is safe.

While you record, your words are already saved

Your audio streams to our transcription service in tiny chunks. Each chunk is transcribed within seconds and the resulting text is saved to your visit immediately. Translation: what you've already said is already saved as text, even if your Wi-Fi cuts out the next second.

If your connection drops

Your device keeps showing the recording screen. Our server holds the session open for 90 seconds, waiting for you to come back. The moment your Wi-Fi reconnects, the recording resumes from exactly where it left off. Same session, no new visit, no lost transcript.

If you don't reconnect within 90 seconds

The session closes itself gracefully. Everything you said before the drop is already transcribed, saved, and a medical note is generated from that partial recording. You won't lose the visit. You'll just have a shorter one. Open it, review the note, add anything missing manually.

The honest caveat

Anything you said during the disconnect. Between when your Wi-Fi died and when your device noticed. Is gone, because it never reached our servers. This is usually a few seconds at most. If you notice a gap, the safest thing is to dictate a quick verbal recap once you reconnect.

Fully offline mode isn't supported

Nixi needs an active connection to transcribe. There's no on-device transcription fallback today.
